North Mulberry Robberies
Several armed robberies have occurred in
Elizabethtown
, Radcliff, Hodgenville and
Brandenburg
since May of 2003. In
Elizabethtown
the following businesses were robbed: Double Dragon, Domino’s
Pizza, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Mr. Gatti’s and the Dollar
General Store. In
Radcliff: Sonic, Alladin Food Mart, Hardees Restaurant, Domino’s
Pizza. In Brandenburg
Mr. Gatti’s and in Hodgenville, Dollar General Store.
In all robberies there has been as many as three
involved and sometimes as few as one.
In all cases the suspects have been described as
black males in there twenties to thirty years of age. Sometimes they
are wearing mask and other times they are not.
Height ranges from 5-6 to 6-1 and one is slender and one is
heavy set or muscular build. Investigators
don’t know if all robberies are related.
These robberies occurred at night usually around
closing time, and the suspects are usually armed with a hand gun and
knife.

Burglary
Crime Stoppers is again asking for help in
solving a burglary. On Friday the 18th of May 2001 at
approximately 6 am a burglary occurred in the 700 block of Hawkins
Drive. The offender entered the residence by cutting a screen
and crawling in through the bedroom window. A 7 year old
female resident awoke when the suspect touched her. The female
resident was able to alert other members of the household at which
time the offender fled the scene. The offender is described as
a young black male with a thin build. The victim believes that
the suspect was approximately the same age as she.
Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
Sometime during the night of July 27, 2002
vandals entered the Saint James Cemetery located on North Miles
Street in Elizabethtown and damaged several grave stones.
Theft of Construction Equipment
Sometime between August 10 and 13, 2002 someone
stole a 1999 Caterpillar backhoe, Model 416C, from the Rafferty's Restaurant
construction site located next to the Mall Park Shopping Center on
North Dixie Highway in Elizabethtown. This backhoe is
described as being yellow and having black stripes.
Arson
On October 10, 2001 at 10:04 am the Elizabethtown
Police and Fire departments responded to a house fire at 322 Helm
Street. Firemen were able to extingush the blaze but
substantial damage had been done prior to their arrival at the
residence. After the fire, investigators were able to
determine that the fire had been intentionally set.
Murder
During the early morning hours of November 16, 1998
the Elizabethtown Police and Fire departments responded to a vehicle
fire just off of Nicholas Street in Elizabethtown. After the fire
was extinguished, police discovered the bodies of Jason L. Walker age 24
of Elizabethtown and Joshua R. West age 23 of Elizabethtown. Both
victims had been shot and placed in the car and then the car was set on
fire.
